About Heaton Hops

Heaton Hops is a tap house and bottle shop on School Lane in Heaton Chapel, Stockport, opened in 2015 by Damian O'Shea and Charlotte Winstone in a converted shop. It is spread over two small rooms, one of them down in the basement, with heated seating out on the pavement for warmer evenings.

On draught there are eight keg taps and a few changing cask lines, with local breweries favoured but good beer from across the UK in the mix. The real depth is on the shelves and in the fridges: a large range of bottle-conditioned beers and cans from the UK and further afield, taking in hazy IPAs, pales, stouts, sours and lambics, to drink in or take home, along with cider, wine and locally roasted coffee. It is dog friendly, welcomes children until early evening, and hosts brewery launches such as Verdant's annual Putty release. It was named Best Pub in the 2015 CityLife Awards and Craft Bar of the Year at the 2016 Manchester Food and Drink Festival, and it remains a regular stop for beer lovers south of the city.
