Runaway Brewery

Runaway Brewery started in 2014 on Dantzic Street in Manchester and moved in 2023 to Crossley House, a former sheet metal works on Astley Street in Stockport town centre, a short walk from the bus and railway stations. The brewery, taproom and bottle shop now share one roof, with a glass partition looking onto the brewhouse.

The beers are what Runaway calls modern British: hop-forward pales and IPAs, malt-led brown ales and porters, and saisons driven by yeast, all unfiltered and unpasteurised, with most naturally conditioned in keg and bottle. Expect 10 keg lines and two cask each week, along with bottles to drink in or take home, plus cider, wine and soft drinks. The L-shaped taproom has long communal tables and benches, and there is a beer garden overlooking the River Mersey. Honest Crust pizza operates from the yard, children and dogs on a lead are welcome, and there are brewery tours with tutored tastings. Payment is by card only and tables are not booked.
