About Cafe Beermoth

Café Beermoth is a beer bar on Brown Street, a few steps from Market Street in the city centre, named after the brown beer cafés of Europe. It opened in 2015 as the sister to the Beermoth bottle shop, and since January 2026 the shop's whole range has lived here too, so there are hundreds of bottles and cans to drink in or take home.

The 18 lines split into seven cask and eleven keg. Stone's Throw, a pale ale brewed for the bar by Runaway, is always on, as is Augustiner Helles, poured to the Munich brewery's own dispense standard. The rest rotates between small British independents and imports from Belgium, Germany and further afield, and the bottle list leans towards lambic, farmhouse and mixed fermentation beers. The cellar sits on show behind glass at the back of the bar, there are booths along the room and big windows look out over the street. Cheese and meat boards are made to go with the beer, there is coffee and wine for anyone not drinking, and the staff are happy to steer you through the list.
