Swinton Hop House

Swinton Hop House is a small craft beer pub on Pendlebury Road in Swinton, a short walk from the railway station. It began in 2018 as House of Hops, a bottle shop with a few keg lines, and was taken on by Ste Bowen in March 2025, who gave it a Northern Soul inspired refurbishment and, for the first time, cask ale.

These days three changing cask beers sit alongside a regular Marble Manchester Bitter, with craft keg, German lagers and a fridge of cans and bottles that includes vegan and gluten-free choices. The room is cosy and relaxed, with yellow walls, beer posters and shelves of bottles, and dogs are welcome. There is no kitchen, but they will point you to places to eat nearby, and a monthly album club gives regulars something to talk about besides the beer. Salford CAMRA made it their Pub of the Year for 2026, a fair sign of how quickly the new chapter has settled in.
